’Château de Quéribus.’
The medieval Château de Quéribus, sitting atop the Corbières mountain range, catches the first rays of the sun, while the neighbouring valley is covered with clouds. It is one of the last strongholds where followers of the Cathar religion could find refuge during their persecution in the first half of the 13th century. The castle is located 25 km northwest of Perpignan. Photo Mick Palarczyk.
