	The Church of the Intercession on the Nerl (Pokrova Bogomateri Church) was built in 1165 on an artificial mound at the confluence of the Nerl and Klyazma Rivers near Bogolyubovo. Its solitary setting and elegant architecture make it one of Russia's most beautiful churches. Photo Mick Palarczyk.
