Smit & Palarczyk > [ITALY.PIEMONTE 01508] 'Colourful Orta' Lago d'Orta is called after Orta, situated on an peninsula in the lake. A warm hearted, colourful small town. Its parish church is embraced by flowers of hydrangea and oleander. Photo Paul Smit.
Smit & Palarczyk > [ITALY.PIEMONTE 01527] 'Isola di San Giulio.' The romanesque basilica of San Giulio at Isola di San Giulio in Lago d'Orta. Its interior contains some beautiful frescoes. Photo Paul Smit.
Smit & Palarczyk > [ITALY.PIEMONTE 01549] 'Loch Ness?' The baby seemonster and its mother are regularly sighted in the Lago d'Orta, near the shore of Omegna. Photo Paul Smit.
Smit & Palarczyk > [ITALY.PIEMONTE 01651] 'Alessi for half prize.' Close to the Lago Maggiore the Lago d'Orta is situated. In Crusalino, still before arriving at that lake, you cannot miss the Alessi factory. In front of its door a giant corkscrew 'Anna G.' looks down on you. The factory shop sells design thingummies with little defects for low prices, like the famous singing teakettle with the bird or the sparkling fallus being a gas lighter. Photo Paul Smit.
