[GERMANY.THUERINGEN 30422] In the Thuringian Open Air Museum Hohenfelden southeast of Erfurt stands the 'Salzmanns-Mühle'. It was built in 1729, in Grossmehlra and is the oldest surviving post mill in Thuringia. It was in function till 1952 and was transported to the open air museum in 2009. On the left we see the hopper which feeds grain towards the mill stones. The handle which regulates the opening of the hopper and thus the flow of grain has been given a simple decoration.
