[GERMANY.THUERINGEN 30323] A monument to Martin Luther can be found on the Karlsplatz in Eisenach. A relief on the socle shows him translating the new Testament from Latin into German at the Wartburg, the castle just outside Eisenach.
The monument was erected on May 4th 1896, the 375th anniversary of Luther’s arrival at the Wartburg, disguised as “Junker Jörg”. Photo Mick Palarczyk.
