’Torana of Kumari Chowk in Kathmandu.’

	Wood-carved torana in the Kumari Chowk, the residence of the city's "living goddess". The house of the Kumari is situated on the south side of Kathmandu's Durbar Square. 
On this torana (wooden carving above a door) Garuda (half man - half bird) is shown clasping a pair of Nagas(snakes).
The many armed goddess Taleju Bhawani, the personal deity of Nepal's Malla dynasty, is shown below the figure of Garuda.. Photo Paul Smit.
