[CHINA.GUANGDONG 25.167] ’West River at Zhaoqing.’	 The Chongxi Pagoda and the quay of the West River at Zhaoqing. In 1583 the Italian Matteo Ricci sailed up this river from Canton and was the first Jesuit who was allowed to build a mission post in China. Its location was at the foot of the Chongxi Pagoda.
