'David and Goliath on Akdamar Island.'

	David is about to launch a stone with his sling towards his opponent Goliath on the southern facade of the 10th century Armenian Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Akdamar, a small island in Lake Van. In accordance with the biblical tale, Goliath wears a helmet of brass and a coat of mail. David has his bag with stones hanging from a strap across his breast. Photo Mick Palarczyk.
