’Carrying the damned to hell.’

The altar wall of the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs at La Tour shows a devil carrying the damned to the mouth of hell in a basket. The image is part of a Last Judgment scene that was executed in 1492 by Currand Bravesi and Guirard Nadal, two of the so-called 'peintres primitifs niçois' (primitive painters of Nice).
