France: discovering the town of Orange, the surrounding Provence and its connection to dutch royal colour ... orange.
When dutch royal power passed from Beatrix to Willem-Alexander in 2013, the colour orange was plastered all over Amsterdam. And who didn't notice that same colour in the football stadiums of South Africa, during the 2010 world cup, when the Dutch team reached high? Why orange? The reason is a small town in Provence: Orange. Until 2013, Willem-Alexander was called Prince of Orange. On becoming king, his eldest daughter Catharina-Amalia became Princess of Orange. So lets have a look at this sunny town in the heart of Provence, surrounded by vineyards and rich in history, and trace its connection to dutch royalty and sport fans.
