Holland: The Eleven Towns Tour of Friesland by E-Bike
The Dutch province of Friesland boasts eleven towns that received city rights in the Middle Ages. They vary in size and atmosphere but each one conveys the distinctive character of Frisian culture. The towns are famous for the Elfstedentocht, a 200 km ice skating tour connecting every one of them. While the skaters follow the frozen canals, the cyclist can do a slightly different route, 254 km long, by just following the signs. We did it on e-bikes, for which public charging stations are provided. The tour starts and ends in Leeuwarden, the Frisian capital.
