’Teruel: detail of the Torre de San Martin.’
Detail of the Torre de San Martin in Teruel. This church tower was built in 1315-1316 in Mudejar style by Moorish craftsmen who adorned it with intricately patterned brickwork and coloured tiles. Teruel was an important Moorish city and retained significant Muslim communities after its Reconquest by Alfonso II of Aragon in 1171. Photo Mick Palarczyk.
