Old streets of Albarracín.
'Old streets of Albarracín.'
Albarracín is a beautifully preserved medieval town in the canyon of the Guadalaviar river in the southwest of Teruel province. In the 11th century the town was the capital of a taifa, an independent Muslim state ruled by the Banu Razin dynasty, whose family name would lend the town its name (Sahla Banu Razin). From 1170 till 1285 it was the capital of the small independent Christian kingdom of the Azagra family. Photo Paul Smit.
